North Hollywood Earthquake 2025 shakes Los Angeles with a 3.9 magnitude. The USGS confirms Sunday’s tremor at 10:13 p.m.
The epicenter was located 1.4 miles east-southeast of North Hollywood. Light shaking was detected in Burbank and North Hollywood Earthquake 2025 by USGS maps. A wide area of Los Angeles was rattled too. Parts of Orange and Ventura counties were affected, the map shows.
“No big fault can be pinned,” seismologist Lucy Jones said. The Hollywood fault was noted as the closest. “Just another earthquake in earthquake country,” she posted online. No major damage was reported yet.
The Los Angeles Fire Department was kept out of earthquake mode. A full city survey wasn’t launched, said Margaret Stewart. Stars in Hollywood were nearby post-Oscars, about 10 miles away. An earthquake kit list was shared by ABC7 for safety.
Shaking was felt now, but calm is restored in LA today.
