Author Lauren Tesolin-Mastrosa: Facing Charges Over Controversial Book ‘Daddy’s Little Toy’. The author will appear in Blacktown Local Court on March 31, 2025, on accusations of possessing, producing, and disseminating items related to child abuse.
Arrest and Police Investigation
After several complaints regarding the book, which allegedly contains horrific fictitious child abuse content, Riverstone Police Area Command officers opened an inquiry on March 21.
At Tesolin-Mastrosa’s Quakers Hill residence, authorities carried out a search warrant and confiscated hard copies of the book for forensic analysis. Shortly after, authorities arrested and charged the author. The court granted her conditional bail until her appearance.
Controversy Surrounding Daddy’s Little Toy
The book sparked immediate backlash for its disturbing storyline, allegedly involving an 18-year-old and her father’s friend who had reportedly “desired her since she was 3 years old.” Critics have condemned the work for its use of sensitive subject matter, further exacerbated by its cover, which features a childlike building block font.
Author’s Response and Industry Fallout
Before deleting her social media accounts, Tesolin-Mastrosa defended her book, claiming it did not promote or incite child sexual abuse. She insisted that people misinterpreted her work and expressed her anguish and annoyance over the charges.
The cover artist, Georgia Stove, has openly severed her relationship with the author, claiming she was not aware of the book’s contents. Tesolin-Mastrosa’s termination from her position as a marketing executive at BaptistCare has also been verified.
Legal Process Upcoming
On March 31, 2025, Tesolin-Mastrosa will appear in court to answer to the accusations. NSW Police emphasize the gravity of the child abuse material allegations while continuing their investigation.
Since then, the book has been taken down from websites like Good Reads and Amazon.
