Slack Down Outage disrupted thousands of users on Wednesday morning, affecting both the mobile app and website. Down Detector recorded over 3,000 complaints about failed message delivery and connectivity issues.
Slack Acknowledges the Outage
At 10:30 a.m., Slack confirmed the issue on its Slack Status page, stating, “We’re investigating reports of trouble connecting or loading Slack, we’ll provide another update once we have news to share.”
The business gave an update around 1 p.m., stating that there were still issues with elements including threads, workflows, and messaging. But features like huddles, searches, and alerts were untouched.
Slack Outages Are Upsetting to Users
Slack, which has more than 200,000 paying users in more than 150 countries, is an essential tool for businesses everywhere. Companies like Target, Uber, Etsy, and Airbnb use Slack for everyday communication. This outage therefore interfered with the productivity of the office.
As Slack struggled to restore services, many users sought out other sites to vent their dissatisfaction on social media.
Previous Slack Outages
This isn’t the first time Slack has faced downtime. The last major outage occurred on January 13, 2025, when users experienced brief connection issues for about 20 minutes.
When Does Slack Reopen?
At 1:30 p.m., Slack stated that their team was still investigating the root cause. As of right now, there is no anticipated timeline for a full resolution.
For real-time updates, users are advised to check the Slack Status page or follow the company’s official social media channels.
